Patrol Division
Jefferson County encompasses 411 square miles of diverse terrain. Within the county are approximately 185 miles of state routes, 260 miles of county roads and 434 miles of township roads. Along the Ohio River, State Route 7 alone extends approximately 35 miles through Jefferson County.
The Patrol Division Deputies of the Jefferson County Ohio Sheriff’s Office respond to calls for service, serve court orders, transport inmates and perform many additional duties throughout their shifts. These responsibilities include collecting information and evidence, conducting investigations and providing first aid and basic life support when needed.
Patrol Deputies average approximately 411,683 miles patrolled annually and serve as the primary law enforcement presence for many villages, all unincorporated areas and fourteen townships within Jefferson County.
