Jefferson County is 411 square miles of widely varying terrain. There are approximately 185 miles of state routes, 260 miles of county roads and 434 miles of township roads inside of Jefferson County. Along the Ohio River, State Route 7 is approximately 35 miles long itself.

Our Patrol Division Deputies respond to calls for service, serve court orders, transport inmates and tend to many other duties throughout their tours.  These services may include the collection of information and evidence, investigations and the rendering of first aid and basic life support.

They average a yearly total mileage of 411,683 miles patrolled and are the primary law enforcement service for many villages, all unincorporated areas and fourteen townships in Jefferson County.
